Well, I've had an extremely busy year so far. I go to school at Lakehead University majoring in Psychology and Math. Formally, I will be receiving an Honours Bachelor of Science (HBSc) degree in Psychology and a Bachelor of Arts degree (BA) with a minor in Geography by May of 2005. I wasn't entirely sure of what I wanted to pursue at the graduate level, so I felt the need to keep the doors open for a Master's degree in Math by taking more Math courses, even after meeting the formal requirements for the undergraduate degree. But Math is one whole lot of work and since I consider the probability of me pursuing Math at the graduate level to be little to none, I've decided that for my final semester at university, I will not take any further Math courses. I would learn more by taking more and that would help me IF I decide to pursue Math, but as I said I don't see it happening. Instead, I enrolled in a Philosophy course (Philosophy of the Occult and Paranormal). This semester is also much more relaxed than almost any other previous semester I've had since first year. Here are my courses this semester:

  • Research Methods in Psychology
  • Health Psychology
  • Social Psyhcology
  • Honours Psychology Thesis
  • Philosophy of the Occult and Paranormal

I'm not going to lie - this is easy and that is exactly how I want it to be. Since my cumulative overall average at this point is pretty good, I have a bit of leeway in case I have a bad semester and get bad marks, which I don't think will happen. Unfortunately, my thesis had to be restarted. Ethical delays may have resulted in me not graduating on time for May convocation, so I decided to change topics from Evolutionary Psychology to Health Psychology (I will be studying depression) since the data has already been collected from a professor at Lakehead U and I will just have to write a related literature review, analyze the data, paraphrase the methodology, write a results section and a finished product. After all, theses at the undergraduate level are only meant to introduce the student to research. There really is no need for me to carry out an experiment to still get learning value out of the deal, so I'm happy. This will be no problem to finish on time, and I will be free of the month or more it may take for ethical approval. It's unfortunate since I did have a fun area of study in mind (mate selection in females), but those are the breaks. You win some you lose some I guess!

The reason why I want to put my diet and training routine up on my little website is mainly because it's not so little anymore. I thought of the idea for the website when I was 19 years old (around fall of 2001), and purchased the domain name in Feb of 2002 shortly after turning 20. I was so busy with school and with the military that I wasn't able to work on it (or even think about it for that matter) until summer of 2003. I had two jobs with the military that summer: one course and one tasking. I decided to cancel the tasking and lose out on the $7,000+ dollars to work on the website. I just really wanted to get a nice little bodybuilding site up. I did, and in around one month, THIS is what looked like in it's infancy.

But then the site got bigger and bigger (traffic wise). And now it is read by thousands of people every day, and it brings me great joy to be able to help people reach their goals whether it be by writing articles for them, or responding to e-mail messages of forum posts.

Now that the site is sufficiently large, I feel that posting my diet and training routine will help many people who read it, and hopefully it will give me the discipline required to stay on my diet and training program as well as I can. The reality is - I try very, very hard when it comes to bodybuilding, but being so incredibly busy with school and work (as a webmaster for this site, among others) that it is almost impossible for me to devote as much time to bodybuilding as I would like to. Because this semester is a little easier than usual, I'm really hoping that I can put everything together and have a good few months of training before school ends and I can get back into it 100%. I'm going to really try - I'll see what I can do!
